Who am I ?
My name is Natalie I was born in Caracas, Venezuela. My mother was born in British Guyana, my father in Germany, which makes the question of identity a tricky one. Adelaide was my great, great grandmother, who was born a native of British Guyana in the 19th century. She was the first in a long family line we now consider a third-culture-child. People think this is just another term which has emerged in the 21st century, only it isn’t. This moving about in the globe also brought in intercultural marriages. I am thankfully the result of such a union. Thankfully, I stress, in that one can choose to live using the good sense of both worlds. The keyword here is ‘choose’. When this is not the case, being a third-culture kid can have a negative impact on self-confidence, in terms of culture and identity. I made a trip to Costa Rica in 2021, it was there where I met and spoke with people of the ‘diaspora’ (Ticos of Jamaican descent) living on the Caribbean side of the country. It was like coming home. I saw myself in them. The most important thing is for your body & soul to be balanced. Gradually I recognized that I could not only heal myself, but be a channel to help others heal as well. I then decided to pursue my spiritual gifts and start the Reiki journey.

My Mission
I believe there is a diaspora mentality in ALL of us, in one way or another. And this condition, inherent to so many people in our present, highly interconnected world, can be turned into a positive ingredient for us to treasure. Our need to connect when we are from the diaspora is more intense, because our sense of what we lost is more intense, even when we are not aware of it. And there is where our power lies! Diaspora people have the potential to be at a place where we can create from a new place; a place from which we can connect to where our ancestors came from and honor that! I hope to bring forth true stories and realities in further writings. But right now, I simply wanted to give you an insight into my heart’s source of the change and shift that occurred in me personally, which leads me to want to share the glory of healing. I hope to work with and help people suffering from any kind of un-ease. My intention in becoming a Reiki practitioner is to help other people become more balanced and have that peace of mind so necessary to stay fit and happy, capable of taking on any challenge life puts in their path. Based on my own experience, without balancing the ‘diaspora’ part of our minds, life becomes more complicated and difficult to cope with. Reiki can provide you with finding this balance.
